The first special 2 euro coin in 2022 is issued in celebration of the centennial of the Finnish National Ballet. Swan Lake, premiered on 17 January 1922, was the first performance of the National Ballet, founded the same year. The essence and power of dance play the main role in the topic pictured on the special 2 euro coin of 2022, named ”Kukoistus” (Splendour). Rosita Kivinen, the designer of the coin, has approached the topic with a feel that is simultaneously contemporary, dynamic and bold.
